Lasan group opens Jailbird on former Nosh & Quaff site

The Lasan Group has opened Jailbird New York Seafood and Steak, in the former site of Nosh & Quaff on Colmore Row, Birmingham.

American diner Nosh & Quaff closed earlier this month for refurbishment. The reopened restaurant, Jailbird, has a New York theme and offers an American style menu of seafood and steak.

Dishes include salty ‘n' sweet caramel-glazed pork knuckle served with a sunflower and pumpkin seed loaf, apple salad and whipped seasoned butter; black risotto with prawns; sea bass marinated in creole spices served with a kale salad and a blackened lemon wedge; grilled lobster with cheesy mustard mornay and fresh herb garlic gremolata with spider steak.

Lasan founder Jabbar Khan said to "expect a cosmopolitan vibe where you can escape from the humdrum and get the New York state of mind" adding that Jailbird will have a classy, New York theme.
