Online travel agent Hotel Connexions goes bust

Glasgow-based online travel agent Hotel Connexions has gone into voluntary liquidation, owing hotels around £200,000.

As a result, the company, which was launched 25 years ago has ceased to trade with immediate effect and all 11 staff have lost their jobs.

Ian Wright, managing director of insolvency business WRI Associates, was appointed as the provisional liquidator of Hotel Connexions on 18 May. He said the company's website did not deliver the volume of business necessary to pay the company's overheads and estimated that £20,000 is owed in total to a number of hotels.

"I am aware that there are many customers and hotels who may lose out because of the company's failure," he said. "All Hotel Connexions customers will be contacted directly in relation to vouchers they have purchased and should await further information from the provisional liquidator."

All hotels impacted by the liquidation can contact HCX@wriassociates.co.uk.
