Monty's Deli to crowdfund for further food market sites

Monty's Deli is looking to raise £150,000 to roll out more sites in indoor food markets across London and the UK.

The Jewish restaurant brand will launch its crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube on Friday 27 July and is hoping to raise its target within a month.

There are two Monty's Deli sites in London: a restaurant in Hoxton, which was crowdfunded, and the brand also inhabits one of the Kitchen sites in Old Spitalfields Market. It is hoping to roll out similar sites across the UK.

Mark Ogus (right) and chef Owen Barratt (left) founded Monty's Deli as a market stall in 2012, named after Ogus's grandfather. The permanent deli opened in April 2017, serving bagels, chicken soup, latkes and blintzes.

Ogus said: "Our experience in markets is proven, and our love for the food we make is unrivalled. We have spent years perfecting recipes, and we now have a year under our belts as restaurateurs. The stage is set for us to roll out Monty's Deli across London."
