Malmaison and Hotel du Vin announce three general manager appointments

Hotel brands Malmaison and Hotel du Vin have announced new general manager appointments at three hotels.

Tom Gallimore is promoted to general manager of Hotel du Vin Birmingham, having previously held the position of hotel manager and deputy general manager at Malmaison Birmingham. Prior to joining the group, he worked at Penta Hotels and Village Hotels. He follows Barry Sherwin, who was interim general manager of the property after the departure of Tony Elvin earlier this year.

Marie Warabida joins Malmaison London as general manager, replacing Stephanie Segoura. She was formerly general manager at Malmaison Reading, and previously held financial positions at both Malmaison and Millennium & Copthorne.

Replacing Warabida at Malmaison Reading is James Henesey, who originally joined the hotel as bar manager and progressed to become deputy general manager.

Scott Harper, chief operating officer of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, said: “The development of our team is hugely important, and these appointments are testament to the fantastic talent pool in our business that allows us to grow from within. I’m delighted to promote Tom, Marie and James and wish them every success in their new roles.”

Frasers Hospitality UK Holdings, whose parent company is based in Singapore, acquired Hotel du Vin and Malmaison in 2015 from by US-based private equity firm KSL Capital Partners. Hotel du Vin recently opened its 19th hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon. Future Malmaison properties are due to launch over the next two years in Bournemouth, Edinburgh and York.
