Final BDL Select hotel sold to the Bansal family
The Langstone hotel has been sold to the Bansal family, owners of the Lion Quays Hotel and Spa near Oswestry in Shropshire.
The 148-bedroom, four-AA-star Langstone hotel on Hayling Island near Portsmouth was the last hotel of the six-strong BDL Select Hotels portfolio to be sold.
The property was sold for an undisclosed sum off a guide price of £14.5m, free of management and branding. Former surgeon Ashok Bansal also owns nursing homes in South Wales.
BDL Select's 113-bedroom Swan hotel in Bedford was sold in March off a guide price of £11.5m to the Distinct Group. Victoria Xu Hotels acquired the 30-bedroom Rosslea Hall hotel in Helensborough, Argyll and Bute in May off a guide price of £2m.
All hotels were sold on an individual basis and were marketed by JLL.

UK law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn acted as legal advisers on the sale for BDL Select Hotels and HCB Solicitors acted for the Bansal family.
