Stephen Allison appointed MD of Bromley Court

Stephen Allison has been named managing director of the Bromley Court Hotel in south London.

He joins the 117-bedroom property, which has been owned by the Frenkel family since it became a hotel in 1931, as an extensive refurbishment programme draws to a close.

Allison's most recent position was cluster general manager for Interstate Hotels, based in Southampton, while previous experience also includes stints at Menzies Hotels and Macdonald Hotels.

Commenting on the new appointment, he said: "I'm looking forward to taking the Bromley Court Hotel into its next phase of development.

"Over the past three years the hotel has gone through a major refurbishment with redesigned bedrooms, bathrooms, public areas and restaurant. This phase of the work is almost complete so my ultimate goal now would be for the hotel to move up to a four-star rating from its current three-star, and to gain an AA rosette for the Garden restaurant."

Set in two acres of landscaped gardens, the Bromley Court Hotel was previously the Bromley Hill Estate. Today it is a popular wedding venue and features the 180-cover Garden restaurant, which was relaunched in 2015.

Allison succeeded Max Ball, who left to pursue other interests.
