Wagamama’s winning streak is continuing as financial results reveal it has traded ahead of its peer group every week for more than four years.
In the year to 29 April 2018 the restaurant group saw UK like-for-like sales grow 7.4% with turnover increasing by 14.9% to £293.3m.
Seven UK restaurants opened in the year. The restaurant group also credited the launch of a vegan menu and the wagamamago payment app as aids to the growth.
Jane Holbrook, CEO, said: “This strong trading performance allows us to invest further in innovation to strengthen our brand and differentiate ourselves over the longer term.”
Group turnover increased 15.3% to £300.6m with the opening of 13 new franchised restaurants across Europe, the Middle East, as well as two US openings.
