Tom Kitchin's fourth restaurant to open in November

Tom Kitchin's fourth restaurant Southside Scran will open in November in Edinburgh's Bruntsfield area.

Craig McKenzie, who has worked with Kitchin for seven years, will head up the kitchen team as head chef.

Featuring an open rotisserie in the middle of a brass-accented, open-plan dining room, the menu will reflect Kitchin and business partner Dominic Jack's passion for modern takes on traditional dishes, local produce and French cuisine, and will offer a daily seafood selection.

Kitchin said: "Over the years we have often been asked when we're going to open a restaurant in the south side of Edinburgh. Bruntsfield is very charming and it just felt like the right place for us to create a neighbourhood restaurant where people can enjoy a meal with their family and friends. The open rotisserie has long been a dream of ours and we can't wait to showcase new dishes and ways of cooking with Scotland's incredible produce."

The dining room will feature wood and tiled floors, referencing traditional French bistros. The interiors, designed by Tom's wife Michaela and Stephen Paterson of Burn's Design, will have a colour palette of dark green and rust-coloured pink.

The drinks list will feature a strong wine focus, selected by Kitchin Group's head sommelier Joel Bastian from a variety of small independent producers, both old and new world, and a seasonal selection of cocktails will also be on offer.

The restaurant will be the fourth restaurant in the Kitchin Group that also includes the Michelin-starred Kitchin in Leith, Castle Terrace in Edinburgh city centre, and the Scran and Scallie in Stockbridge.
