Former Delisserie sites picked up by Hudsons American Brasserie and Indulge Dessert Lounge

Hudsons American Brasserie and Indulge Dessert Lounge are both set to expand into former Delisserie sites after the company went into liquidation in May after 15 years of trading.

Hudsons, which was founded by ex-Delisserie director Martin Ment in 2015, will be moving into a 2,830 sq ft unit previously owned by his former company on Shenley Road, Borehamwood.

The new Hudsons site is expected to offer the US-style menu served in its Whetstone and Mile End locations, and will include dishes such as firebomb chicken wings, truffled mac 'n' cheese and blackened tuna.

A second former Delisserie site was picked up by Indulge Dessert Lounge, the second location after its flagship outlet in Pinner, north west London.

The 1,700 sq ft unit on Buckingham Parade in Stanmore is expected to continue to serve its late-night dessert offering of freshly made waffles, crêpes and pancakes, along with a variety of savoury options.

The deal was brokered by CDG Leisure, which worked with insolvency agents Williams and Partners to secure the sites.

Emma Cousins of CDG Leisure said: "This is a great outcome for Delisserie and a testament to the strength of the two brands. Hudsons' extensive repertoire of iconic American dishes is guaranteed to generate a buzz with Borehamwood diners.

"We are also seeing a growing demand in dessert spots, catalysed by social media platforms such as Instagram. Indulge's huge variety and after-dinner opening hours will make it a perfect destination for friends and family alike."

The announcement means all four former Delisserie sites have been acquired, with one going to all-day bistro Bob's Cafe in April and another being taken by vegetarian and vegan restaurant the Gate, which is set to open its fourth restaurant in the site in October.
