Luke Millikin appointed GM of Hotel du Vin Cheltenham

Boutique brand Hotel du Vin has appointed Luke Millikin as general manager of its 49-bedroom property in Cheltenham.

Millikin joins the property from the Calcot Collection's 16-bedroom Painswick hotel, near Stroud, Gloucestershire, where he spent nearly three years as general manger including overseeing its opening. The former general manager at the Hotel du Vin in Cheltenham was Chris Thompson.

Millikin previously worked as deputy general manager at St Mellion International Resort in Cornwall for three and a half years, having worked for Abode Hotels and Bovey Castle in Dartmoor, Devon, earlier in his career.

He said: "I loved my time at Painswick, but I was ready for a new challenge and was looking for the opportunity to work for a bigger hotel, or one in a vibrant town centre. With Hotel du Vin I found both. I'm really looking forward to getting to know our guests and the local community."

Scott Harper, chief executive of Hotel du Vin and sister boutique brand Malmasion, said, "Luke's impressive experience made him a natural choice for the general manager role. I'm delighted to welcome him to Hotel du Vin and look forward to working with him to further build on the hotel's success."

Hotel du Vin currently numbers 17 properties located in major towns and cities across the UK, while there are 15 Malmasion hotels.
