Management team revealed for new Manchester Hotel Indigo

James McDevitt has been appointed general manager of the Hotel Indigo Manchester - Victoria Station set to open in October.

Along with director of sales Nicola Staley and executive chef Andrew Green, he will oversee the 187-bedroom hotel opening within the restored Grade II-listed City Buildings development adjacent to Victoria Station. He previously held general manager roles at Hotel du Vin Harrogate and the Macdonald Manchester hotel.

The hotel will be managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, which operates more than 70 hotels and resorts across the UK.

McDevitt said: "I am thrilled to be involved in what is such an exciting new opening in Manchester city centre. We have developed a first-class hotel and the offering will continue to raise the standard set in the city."

The Caterer reported earlier this month that Lowry hotel executive chef Andrew Green will be overseeing the hotel's Mamucium 120-cover restaurant and bar and the 75-cover M Café.

James Houlston, managing director of BH Group, the developer that owns the building, said: "Hotel Indigo Manchester - Victoria Station has been designed to be a unique offering for the city and this is represented throughout. From the bedrooms through to the menu at Mamucium we are celebrating Manchester and its heritage. I am confident that under the direction of James, Nicola and Andrew, this will become a landmark destination for the city."
