Staycity set to open in Liverpool's Corn Exchange next month

Aparthotel brand Staycity is set to open its latest property in Liverpool's Corn Exchange building on 19 October.

The 212-apartment site will offer studios, one and two-bed apartments all with a kitchen fitted with microwave, fridge, dishwasher and hob as well high-speed broadband, a 40" flat screen TV, rainfall shower and a Handy smartphone.

Staycity Group chief executive Tom Walsh said: "I'm particularly pleased to be opening in such a vibrant, busy area of this exciting city, which will be perfect for both our leisure and business visitors. Corn Exchange very much fits with our strategy of being in central locations in key UK and European cities."

Facilities at the Staycity Liverpool, Corn Exchange will include a Staycafé selling drinks, breakfasts and snacks, a fitness room, a lounge, a laundry room, 24-hour reception desk and guest parking.

Kearon McCarthy is to be general manager of the new property, as well as managing Staycity's existing Liverpool site, which opened with 56 apartments on Duke Street in 2009.

The Staycity Group, set up in 2004 by Tom Walsh and his brother Ger, now operates in 10 European cities including Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Paris, York, Marseilles and New York, with over 4,500 apartments (operational and pipeline) across the Staycity Aparthotels and Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity brands.

The first of the company's premium Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity brand was opened earlier this year on London's Strand, with further Wilde properties to follow in Edinburgh, Manchester and Berlin.

New properties are scheduled to open in Disneyland Paris, Dublin, Venice and Manchester and the company is on target to achieve its target of 15,000 apartments by 2022.
