Asia's biggest fast-food chain Jollibee to open in London

Jollibee, Asia's biggest fast-food restaurant chain, will open its first UK restaurant in London on 20 October.

The family-oriented restaurant will open in Earl's Court offering meals including fried chicken, Jolly spaghetti and its signature Yum Burgers.

Chief executive, Ernesto Tanmantiong, said: "Launching in the UK is a major step for Jollibee. British people have shown that they are not only willing to try new types of food but also love Asian flavours, so we believe our menu will be loved as much in the UK as it is around the world."

The move is the latest in an aggressive expansion bid by the Filipino company, which was given a market value of more than £4b.

The Earl's Court restaurant will be Jollibee's second European opening, following its arrival in Milan earlier this year.

Chairman Tony Tan Caktiong, who founded the group in Manila in the 1970s, said earlier this year: "Since the start of Jollibee Foods 40 years ago, I have always dreamt it to be the largest food company in the world."
