Mark Lloyd appointed executive chef of Notting Hill's Pomona's

Chef and television presenter Mark Lloyd has been appointed executive chef of Pomona's restaurant and bar in Notting Hill.

The appointment will see the forager and wild food expert make his debut in a London kitchen.

Lloyd has developed an ethically sourced all-day modern European menu, described as "rustic yet refined". Signature dishes will include spiced guinea fowl with smoked aubergine, dates and fregola, as well as ox cheek, celeriac, smoked apple and truffle with a beer sauce.

The chef has said that sustainability will be a major focus, with the restaurant striving to eliminate plastic packaging, cling film and straws.

Mark comments: "I'm hugely excited to start this new chapter in my career. Pomona's is a wonderful neighbourhood restaurant with an incredibly loyal following. The new menu takes inspiration for some of the best dishes I have encountered on my travels with exciting combinations and bold flavours."

Lloyd was named head chef of the first River Cottage Canteen in 2007. Shortly after he spent two years in St Mellion International Resort, Cornwall, followed by the Cleave Inn, Devon. He would go on to take the position of development executive chef for Miele as well as appearing as a presenter on shows including Market Kitchen and the BBC's Rip Off Britain.
