Five-floor Mykonos-inspired bar and restaurant Onima to launch in Mayfair
Onima, a five-storey restaurant, bar and private lounge inspired by "the spirit of Mykonos" will bring its Mediterranean-Asian fusion cuisine to the capital next month.
Launched by founder Alexandros Andrianopoulos, the site will feature a glass-enclosed rooftop terrace, offering views from its location on Avery Row, Mayfair.
Planned dishes include beef tartare with orange ponzu sauce, heritage tomatoes and celery; king crab salad with seaweed and caviar dressed with yuzu, spring onion and truffle; and pineapple carpaccio with cardamom, star anise and coconut panna cotta.
Meanwhile the interior is being handled by Greek designers Archset, and will feature a regularly changing art collection "that reflects the city's state of mind".
The opening falls into something of an emerging trend for the capital of luxury sites offering Mediterranean-Asian fusion. From the other side of the sea, Zela London opened last month in its first site outside of Ibiza.
