This week’s new products: No1 Kombucha, plaintain chips, CUT overproof rum and more

The No1 Kombucha is a lightly sparkling drink available in three varieties: ginger and turmeric; passionfruit and goji; and raspberry, pomegranate and hibiscus. Kombucha is an unpasteurised drink full of live cultures and created by fermenting green tea.

Aryzta Food Solutions has two new products in its range of frozen band layer desserts: lemon brûlée, a set lemon-flavoured cream filling on a biscuit crumb base with a brûlée-style topping; and a trio of chocolate mousse, made up of layers of dark, milk and white chocolate mousse, dusted with cocoa powder on top of a soft chocolate sponge.

The latest launch is a sustainably sourced and 100% natural tomato ketchup that uses surplus tomatoes and pears. The natural sweetness means the condiment uses half the sugar and contains three times the fruit content of typical ketchups.

CUT is a new disruptive rum brand that offers three varieties: spiced, overproofed and smoked. Each spirit blends Trinidadian and Jamaican rum that has been crafted in copper pot stills. The rum is then infused with natural ingredients, including aniseed, nutmeg, ginger, pepper, cinnamon, coriander seed, lemon and vanilla.

Patacones (plantain chips) are Made for Drink’s first foray into a bar snack that pairs with a spirit – namely golden rum, which is fast establishing itself as gin’s natural successor as the next popular spirit. The plantain is smashed and fried twice before being seasoned in salt, chilli and a selection of spices.

Gnaw’s new 35g bars are handcrafted in Norfolk out of seeds, fruits, nuts and British granola. Flavours include milk chocolate with peanuts, British granola and seeds; milk chocolate with cranberries, raisins, British granola and seeds; and dark chocolate with orange, British granola and seeds.

Central Foods has expanded its free-from range with the launch of two new desserts, the Menuserve New York-style baked cheesecake and the baked chocolate and cherry cheesecake. Both are gluten-free and vegan and come pre-sliced into 14 portions.

Belgian based ready-to-fill pastry manufacturer Pidy has expanded its Technipat frozen sponge sheet range with a jaconde chocolate sponge with almond, coconut or pistachio pieces.
