Fire-hit Mayfair restaurant reopens today

Noura restaurant in London's Mayfair reopens today following a fire yesterday that reached the third-floor flats above it.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said: "Thank God, everyone is well and we found no damages in our property other than water in the storage areas.

"At the moment, we have no information as to where the fire started, it is still under investigation."

At the height of the blaze, the restaurant on Curzon Street, which is next to the Embassy of Saudi Arabia, was attended by six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from London Fire Brigade. Fire crews from Soho, Lambeth, Chelsea and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene.

The brigade was called at 9.17am and the fire was under control at 10.47am.
