Help find Ace: Soho's Karma Sanctum hotel seeks return of stolen 6ft gorilla

The Karma Sanctum hotel in Soho has launched an appeal seeking the return of a 6ft-tall fibreglass gorilla known as Ace which was stolen from its rooftop.

Two thieves in high-vis jackets are reported to have unbolted the 160kg primate from the hotel's roof on Monday 5 November.

The 30-bedroom hotel tweeted: "APPEAL! Help us to find our beloved Ace, who has been stolen! A part of our family for many years, Ace was taken from our rooftop on Monday morning and carried along the London rooftops. Any information would be appreciated!"

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: "An allegation of theft was reported to police on Saturday 10 November.

"The theft is alleged to have occurred at commercial premises on Warwick Street, W1 on Monday 5 November."
