Malmaison Liverpool completes multimillion-pound makeover

Malmaison Liverpool has revealed the results of a multimillion-pound refurbishment of its 130 bedrooms and meeting and events spaces.

The refurbishment has also seen the launch of a new cocktail bar at the property.

The brand is expected to open three new hotels opening over the next 24 months including in Bournemouth, where the brand is in the early stages of developing a new build hotel; Edinburgh, where renovation work has already begun on the Grade A-listed Buchan House, which will be the brand's second site in the city; and York, where work is underway to open a new 150-bedroom hotel.

Guus Bakker, chief executive at Malmaison Hotel du Vin Group said: "The refurbishment reflects our continued commitment to the improvement of our hotels, to ensure that our guests enjoy the same exceptional service and surroundings at Malmaison, time after time."

Malmaison was sold along with sister brand Hotel du Vin to Frasers Hospitality UK Holdings for £363.4m in 2015 by US-based private equity firm KSL Capital Partners. The group now operates 19 Hotel du Vin properties and 15 Malmaisons.
