Crazy golf brand Swingers secures investment for new concept

Crazy golf brand Swingers has secured investment from Cain International to launch a second competitive leisure concept in the UK as well as pursuing openings in North America.

The company, founded in 2014 by Matt Grech-Smith and Jeremy Simmonds, has two Swingers sites in London offering crazy golf alongside bars and street food offerings.

Jonathan Goldstein, CEO of Cain International, said: "Jeremy and Matt have pioneered the fast-growing competitive socialising leisure space. They've developed an exciting, dynamic and highly profitable business with a much-loved brand in a short space of time. We are excited to partner with them and bring both our international footprint and our experience with other real estate-backed leisure and hospitality concepts such as The St. James, Mortimer House and AllBright, to roll out their successful concept globally."

Grech-Smith, co-founder and co-CEO of Swingers parent company Competitive Socialising, added: "When we set up the investment process in May, we had a clear vision for the business and wanted to find the right business partner to help us achieve that. Cain quickly understood the importance of the US as a market for us and shared our vision for the business's future.

"Competitive socialising is an emerging sector of the market that has tended to be dismissed by some people as a flash in the pan. But we want to show that this is a stable business model with huge potential. Bringing in these investors has helped us validate that belief."
