Fire-hit Irish hotel suffers ‘extensive damage' as man is hospitalised

A man has been hospitalised following a fire at the Caiseal Mara hotel in Moville, County Donegal.

One male in his 50s was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment, following outbreak of the blaze, which caused "extensive damage" to the premises. Gardaí (Irish police) in Buncrana are investigating the fire which broke out at the 48-bedroom property on the morning of 25 November at approximately 4.30am.

The gardaí are appealing for witnesses, anyone with information or anyone that was in the area that may have seen suspicious activity on Foyle Street on the morning prior or after the fire.
