Swingers creators eye new concepts as turnover reaches almost £10m

The group behind crazy-golf concept Swingers is pursuing expansion into new concepts after turnover increased to almost £10m in the year to 29 April 2018.

Turnover for parent company Competitive Socialising in the 12 months stood at £9.9m, up from £8.5m the previous year, with a gross profit of £5m. However the company recorded a pre-tax loss of £2.4m, which it said was a result of recognition of the group EMI options.

The company, founded in 2014 by Matt Grech-Smith and Jeremy Simmonds, had one Swingers site in the City of London during the period, with its second in the West End opening in April 2018. The sites offer crazy golf alongside bars and street food offerings. A third site in New York in the US is expected to open later this year.

The group remains focused on developing and opening concepts in the experimental leisure market and in November announced that it had secured investment from Cain International to launch a second competitive leisure concept in the UK as well as pursuing openings in North America.
