Julio Marques returns to London Bridge hotel as general manager

The appointment of Julio Marques as general manager of the four-AA-star, 138-bedroom London Bridge hotel has marked a return to the property for the seasoned hotelier.

Marques previously worked at the hotel for five years as food and beverage manager until 2008, when he moved to InterContinental Hotels Group. During his first stint at the hotel, he helped to launch the Londinium restaurant.

Earlier roles in Marques' career included as general manager of the Landsowne Club, London, and the Lythe Hill hotel, Haslemere, Surrey.

Marques said: "I am thrilled and excited to be returning to London Bridge hotel. I am very proud of my history with the property and the success that it and the team have enjoyed and I look forward to building on this and making the hotel a true 21st century business."

The London Bridge hotel has been is independently owned and operated for 21 years. A majority shareholding in the business is held by Simon Elias.
