Corse Lawn House appoints Chris Monk as head chef
Chris Monk has been appointed head chef at the family-run Corse Lawn House.
Having formerly worked at Le Champignon Sauvage, Cheltenham which at the time held two Michelin stars, and Montagu Arms Hotel at Beaulieu when it had a Michelin star, Monk's appointment marks a return to the site where he started his career in his early teens.
He said: "It is such an honour to be taking my first head chef role at Corse Lawn House. The hotel has always had fond memories for me. I look forward to putting my own stamp on the kitchen whilst keeping the core values it has always held, cooking everything fresh, from the brioche for breakfast, the scones for afternoon teas to the petit fours, everything is made in house and using local, seasonal produce."
It comes after the appointment of David Jenkins as manager of the site, another return hire. Handed the role in December, Jenkins first worked at the hotel in 1996.
