Galgorm Collection to buy Templeton hotel for £7m

The Galgorm Collection is set to acquire the Templeton hotel in County Antrim for £7m from the McCombe family.

The Galgorm Collection, previously known as Tullymore House, adds the 24-bedroom Templepatrick property to its hospitality portfolio which also includes the four-AA-silver-star, 122-bedroom Galgorm Resort in Ballymena.

The Templeton hotel was owned by Stephen and David McCombe, who built the property in 1990. "Exciting and energetic" plans for the redevelopment of the hotel will be revealed soon.

Galgorm Collection has made a slew of investment in recent years including £1.5m into its Belfast restaurants Fratelli and Café Parisien and the £600,000 purchase and refurbishment of the Castle Kitchen + Bar at Galgorm Castle Golf Club last year.

Galgorm Resort is also set to unveil additional luxury cottages within the estate this March and has benefited from a multimillion-pound investment programme over the last decade.

Galgorm Collection managing director Colin Johnston said: "Our multi-million-pound investment in Templepatrick will strengthen the local community and economy, as well as embolden Northern Ireland's reputation as a world-class tourism destination. Over 50 jobs will be created in Templepatrick and all current staff will be retained."
