Tom Scade appointed executive chef of the Vineyard

Tom Scade has been appointed executive chef at the Vineyard hotel following the departure of Robby Jenks.

Scade is joining the hotel's three-AA-rosette restaurant in Stockcross, Berkshire, from the Ritz hotel in London where he is sous chef to John Williams. This year's UK finalist of the Taittinger Prix Culinaire, who went on to place third in the international competition, Scade initially trained under Williams before running the Mariners Rock in Cornwall as chef/general manager.

He was also head chef at Martin Blunos' eponymous restaurant in Bath, and then opened the Crab and Boar in Chieveley as head chef. Scade returned to the Ritz as sous chef in 2016, the year the hotel gained its first Michelin star.

Jenks and his partner Rebecca Galland left their respective jobs at the five-red-AA-star, 49-bedroom Vineyard hotel to join the Samling in Windermere, Cumbria.

The property is a member of Relais & ChÁ¢teaux and Pride of Britain and is privately owned by Sir Peter Michael and his family.
