Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square lease back on the market

The leasehold for the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in Mayfair has been brought to market with a reported £180m guide price.

The leasehold of the 237-bedroom property was sold to Hong Kong-based private equity firm Joint Treasure for £125.1m in 2014 after Strategic Hotels and Resorts decided to concentrate on its US hotel portfolio.

A statement from Marriott said: “The leasehold of Marriott Grosvenor Square is a matter involving the landlord. Any change in leaseholder will not impact day-to-day business and we will continue to provide the exemplary service and experiences that our guests expect.”

Gordon Ramsay’s previously Michelin-starred Maze restaurant was located in the hotel until it closed in January, and is set to be replaced by a new concept.

JLL is marketing the property.
