Café De Pierre unaffected by Debenhams administration

Café De Pierre outlets in Debenhams stores are unaffected by the high street retailer's administration.

A spokesperson for the pâtsserie-brasserie brand, which is operated by the Lux Management and Investment Group (behind Caffè Concerto and the Grand Caffe), said "none of the stores that we've gone into are going to be affected".

Debenhams fell into administration earlier today and has been sold to its lenders through a pre-pack administration process, with all businesses continuing to trade as normal. However, the group announced earlier this year than 50 of its stores are set to close, but has not confirmed which ones.

Café De Pierre took on the sites, previously Patisserie Valerie concessions, just last month, in London's Oxford Street, Westfield London, Wandsworth, Stevenage, Chelmsford, Telford and Liverpool. It also took on more than 150 ex-Patisserie Valerie employees who had been made redundant following the company's administration.

At the time it announced plans to extend its offerings to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Dublin and Cardiff and to take on a further 200 members of staff.
