Adam Rawson concepts confirmed for the Standard Hotel

Adam Rawson will oversee two ground floor sites - Isla and Double Standard - at the Standard in London's Kings Cross when the hotel opens in summer.

Isla, a coastal cuisine-focussed restaurant will offer light proteins and seasonal British produce as well as a selection of natural wines. Meanwhile the more casual and wet-led Double Standard will feature traditional pub classics and NYC dive bar food.

The concepts come as an interplay between Rawson and Standard International's creative director of Food and Culture, Angela Dimayuga - formerly of Mission Chinese Food, New York.

Rawson said: "I've really enjoyed the challenge of creating menus which reflect the distinct personalities of Double Standard and Isla.

"Double Standard is going to be a more raucous, convivial space, so I've come up with a selection of elevated snacks perfect for sharing (or soaking up a few pints). Isla's menu will be more delicate and much lighter - perfect for enjoying in the summer sunshine."

The two sites will be accompanied by a further offering from Michelin-starred chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias, who will launch a restaurant and bar on the roof of the hotel as his first London site.

Allan Pickett, former executive chef of Swan at Shakespeare's Globe and chef-patron of Piquet in London's Fitzrovi has joined the property as head chef of the two ground-floor restaurants supporting Rawson.
