Lords of the Manor hotel in Gloucestershire is launching a second restaurant next week called Atrium.
The four-red-AA-star, 26-bedroom property in Upper Slaughter, which already has a three-AA-rosette dining room, recently completed a full refurbishment of its ground floor, including the two restaurants, bar and lounge. The new restaurant has taken over what was previously a private dining room.
Overseen by head chef Charles Smith, the 14-cover Atrium opens on 20 May and will offer a £95 eight-course tasting menu with a focus on seasonal produce. The hotel’s 40-cover dining room will offer a complementary, more relaxed dining style.
The hotel previously held a Michelin star for eight years, which it lost in the 2018 guide following the departure of executive chef Richard Picard-Edwards in December 2016.
General manager Michael Obray said: “We’re very much looking to opening the new restaurant. Many of our customers stay for two nights or more and we’ve listened carefully to their comments. A choice of dining styles is essential and will allow us to broaden our appeal.”
Smith added: “Atrium of Lords of the Manor is where the fine dining reputation of this amazing 17th-century Cotswold property will be nurtured and developed, a restaurant that is luxurious, confident and playful.”
