Not Dogs closed its site in Birmingham’s Bullring yesterday, but the group has said it’s “not the end” of the meat-free hot dog concept in the city.
“Our business is just taking a little change of direction,” it posted on its social media accounts. “We do hope to return to our home town of Birmingham soon.”
The website advertises that more locations will also be “coming soon”, serving its meat-free burgers, sides, salads and shakes.
Not Dogs was created in 2014 by social media entrepreneurs Jane Yates and Katie McDermott after they felt frustrated at the lack of satisfying meat-free food.
It started as a street food stand in festivals before opening its first restaurant in the Bullring in 2016. The group has one other site, at Chessington World of Adventures theme park, which opened in May 2018, although this is currently closed for the season.
