Lateral City appointed to run serviced apartments at Holyrood
Nine serviced apartments are set to open on the doorstep of the Palace of HolyroodHouse, the Queen's official residence in Edinburgh.
Royal Collection Trust has appointed Lateral City Apartments to operate the properties within the 16th century building Abbey Stand, which at one time were used as lodgings for Mary Queen of Scots' courtiers.
Abbey Strand Apartments at Holyrood will be the fourth property in the Lateral City portfolio in Edinburgh, alongside the Edinburgh Grand, Old Town Chambers and Merchiston Residence.
The apartments, offering a mix of studio, one and two bedroom accommodation, will feature medieval fireplaces and stone walls with a contemporary twist.
Gavin MacLennan, general manager of the apartments operated by Lateral City, said: "These apartments pay homage to the building's past, each taking on the personality of a former resident, but each also has all the high quality facilities expected by visitors to Lateral City apartments. The location, too, could not be more perfect."
