Libertines' Margate hotel to open ‘at the end of the year'

The Libertines' Margate hotel is set to open at the end of the year, following on from the launch of a bar in August.

As part of a tour announcement the English rock band, whose members include Pete Doherty and Carl Barât, said the Albion Rooms in Kent and the recording studio would open in late 2019. The bar will be called the Waste Land.

The group is refurbishing a five-storey, seven-bedroom property overlooking the sea, which could be the first of many with the band holding ambitions to open a group of hotels in seaside locations, The Caterer exclusively revealed last year.
