Following a massive fire at the Premier Inn Bristol Cribbs Causeway yesterday which has caused "significant damage" to the property, all staff have been accounted for.

A spokesperson for Premier Inn said: "Our hotel at Bristol Cribbs Causeway has suffered significant damage following the fire which broke out yesterday afternoon.

"We express our thanks to the emergency services for their efforts in tackling the blaze, and we will of course continue to provide them with assistance as necessary.

"Our teams have been working hard to ensure all guests staying at Cribbs Causeway yesterday have been fully supported to make other arrangements, including being transferred to our other hotels in Bristol."

Fire services were called at around 13.17 yesterday and more than 60 firefighters from across the service attended the scene at the hotel on Catbrain Lane, which was a declared a "major incident" shortly after 5pm last night. Approximately nine appliances were in attendance at the height of the blaze.

Justin Hobbs of Avon Fire & Rescue Service said the "majority" of the building had been affected by the fire and at around 11am today was still not fully extinguished.
