Georgian House promotes Florence Alloing to general manager

Florence Alloing has been promoted to general manager of Georgian House hotel in London's Victoria ahead of the departure of Adam Rowledge.

Alloing joined the family-owned hotel at the start of the year as reception and revenue manager, following previous roles as front of house manager at PPHE Group's Park Plaza Victoria London, front office manager at D&D London's South Place hotel, and front office manager at Apex City of London.

Georgian House said she went up against a number of external candidates but came out on top "thanks to her passion and ambition". Rowledge is leaving the role at the end of the month to start his own consultancy business after four years in the role.

Owner of Georgian House, Serena von der Heyde, added: "I am delighted that Florence is progressing so quickly and she has already made a huge impact since joining the team. I'm really pleased that through this appointment, our ethos of opportunity, growth and diversity is demonstrably working in practice. Florence is a dynamic talent and undoubtedly ready to take Georgian House forward on the next step of our journey."

Built in 1851, under the instruction of Thomas Cubitt, by co-owner Serena von der Heyde's great-great-grandfather William Chinnery Mitchell, Georgian House has been owned by the family for more than 160 years. Today, the Grade II-listed property has 63 bedrooms, five apartments and 'wizard chambers' and has been awarded five AA stars in the guidebook's guest accommodation category.
