Promoted article: Contactless order and pay technology plays huge part In providing consumer reassurance
Contactless order and pay provider Ordamo has launched 'The Role of Tech in Consumer Reassurance', a new report examining the needs and benefits of technology in hospitality.
The 4 July brought cause for celebration and marked the UK's biggest step in its journey back to some form of normality. However, hospitality businesses have had to change face dramatically to accommodate the required safety measures and to reassure consumers.
Consumer confidence is still relatively low, with only 18% of consumers intending to return to hospitality venues within a week of opening, and only 44% within the first few weeks (1). But consumer confidence can be earned.
When asked what were the most important safety/hygiene precautions, consumers wanted to see implemented, technology solutions such as contactless payment were third in the list of priorities, with 55% looking for this option when dining out of home (1). This marries with the government's most recent guidance (endorsed by UKHospitality), which champions the use of contactless ordering and payment to minimise staff and customer contact and safely manage service interactions.
Tech also holds the key to increased consumer confidence due to its ability to easily provide transparency around allergens, origins, provenance and food credentials. All areas that concern consumers, never more so than today.
Order and pay systems such as Ordamo not only enable customers to order and pay contact-free, but deliver an almost entirely contact-free end-to-end dining experience. To support operators in kick-starting the hospitality market, Ordamo has created a short guide about 'The Role of Tech in Consumer Reassurance', which can be downloaded here.
With Ordamo, customers arriving at a venue simply scan a QR code or go to a custom URL on their mobile. From there, they can browse an entire branded menu (including allergens, origins and provenance), place their orders and make tailored requests. They can also securely pay the bill and be given a receipt; all integrating seamlessly with operators' existing Epos systems.
Ordamo offers the most user- and operator-friendly order and secure pay platform, delivering on the needs of today's consumers and, just as importantly, the needs of operators. There are no upfront or ongoing fees, just a small commission per transaction (2), and businesses can have the system up and running within 48 hours.
(1) CGA. (2) Standard PCI compliance of £4.99/month also required.
