Award-winning publican buys Yorkshire Dales inn

Award-winning publican Charles Cody has snapped up the Punch Bowl Inn in the North Yorkshire village of Low Row.

Cody already owns the Charles Bathurst Inn in the nearby village of Arkengarthdale, which is the Good Pub Guide Inn of the Year for 2006.

The Punch Bowl Inn , which has been closed for 18 months, is located in Upper Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is close to both the Pennine Way and the Coast to Coast Walk.

As a result, it attracted tourists, walkers and cyclists as well as local trade.

The three-storey building offers 13 bedrooms, a main bar, a 60-seat restaurant/function room, a games room, and two-bedroom owners' accommodation.

The Leeds office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £399,000.
