Award-winning Somerset pub on the market

The 300-year old Star Inn at the North Somerset holiday resort of Watchet has been put up for sale.

The award-winning freehouse in Mill Lane was voted the CAMRA Somerset Pub of the Year 2006.

It is near several large holiday complexes and is close to a number of local attractions including a new marina, Exmoor National Park, the West Somerset Steam Railway and Dunster Castle.

The detached stone property retains a number of period details such as exposed beams, slate-tiled floors and a wood burner.

It incorporates a 36-seat public bar with snug, a 28-seat restaurant, a two-bedroom letting cottage with a sauna and Jacuzzi suite, and three-bedroom owners' accommodation.

Outside, the inn has a detached cellar block, trade and private gardens, and a front patio. In total, there is outdoor seating for up to 70 customers.

The Exeter office of Christie + Co is seeking offers in excess of £799,000 for the freehold on behalf of Kim and Keith Fairbrother.
