Blackpool hoteliers buy Nairn inn

Former Blackpool hoteliers Guy and Cherie Ashton are the new owners of the Albert Inn, which has a corner site close to the centre of the Moray Firth harbour town of Nairn.

The pub is a modern extension to an original Victorian property that serves as spacious four-bedroom accommodation for the owners.

Its eight letting bedrooms to sleep 19 guests are popular with golfers, tourists and the commercial business trade.

The Leerie Lounge Bar serves bar food while the 30-seat restaurant is used primarily for residents' breakfast and functions. The sun lounge, which is accessed from the beer garden, is for residents' use.

In the year to 30 April 2007, the pub achieved trading profits before depreciation and finance charges of £62,876 on net turnover £182,434 while figures for the year to 30 April 2008 indicate a net turnover £197,000.

The Edinburgh office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the feuhold off a guide price in excess of £575,00on behalf of Mark Robertson and Angela Raynsford.
