Bulldog Pub Co buys Cotswold inn
Two-star Cotswold coaching inn the White Hart Royal has been sold to the Bulldog Pub Co.
Its acquisition of the property in Moreton-in Marsh continues its strategy of disposing of its pubs and moving into hotels.
The Grade II-listed White Hart Royal, which dates back to the 16th century, retains typical period details such as a carriage archway into the central courtyard, a beamed bar and an inglenook fireplace.
It occupies a corner site on the High Street in the Gloucestershire market town.
The inn, which is being extensively refurbished, offered 17 en-suite bedrooms to sleep 35 and could seat approximately 100 customers across its two bars and the Cavalier restaurant, with more seating available in the courtyard.
Facilities also included a ground-floor meeting room and a first-floor function room for around 80 delegates.
For staff, the property offered a four-bedroom manager's wing with a private garden, a staff flat with four rooms and a bathroom, two en-suite double rooms and single room with an en-suite shower.
The Cirencester office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold off a guide price in excess of £1m
