Enterprise Inns enjoys 53% rise in profits

Enterprise Inns have today released impressive financial results, with pre-tax profits in the six months to 31 March up 53% to £143.m from £93.7m last year.

The leased and tenanted pub company, said turnover was £453.9m including a full year's contribution from the Unique Pub Company, purchased in March 2004.

Jon Lake, assistant director corporate finance at Deloitte, said Enterprise's results were extremely encouraging and the business model very successful.

"However, at some stage the growth we've seen so far will have to slow down because there are few big acquisition opportunities left in the sector," Lake said.
