Local licensees buy North Yorkshire country inn

Local licensees Chris Wade and Diane Hibberd are the new owners of the Milbank Arms country inn, which is located in the North Yorkshire Conservation Village of Well, near Bedale.

Well lies between the Dales and the Moors and is close to the A1. It is near Exelby, where Wade and Hibberd formerly ran the Green Dragon.

The centuries-old Milbank Arms contains a 30-seat bar with an open fire and a snug and a 30-seat dining room with ceiling timbers and a brick-surround fireplace with log-burning stove.

Along with a two-bedroom owners' flat, the property also provides an en-suite double bedroom for staff on the ground floor.

Outside, there is a forecourt patio with picnic bench seating, a car park and a walled, flagged patio

The Leeds office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the property off an asking price of £495,000 on behalf of Tony and Jan Lee.
