New owners for Dartmoor village inn

The Packhorse, a substantial inn with tea rooms and three letting bedrooms in the Devon village of South Brent, has been bought by Kenneth and Linda Austin.

The business on the southern edge of Dartmoor National Park incorporates a 24-seat bar, a 20-seat snug, a 10-seat breakfast room and a 30-seat tea room.

The Austin's daughter Claire, a qualified pastry chef and National Gold Medal winner for speciality cakes, will run the tea room which will sell a selection of home-made cakes.

The inn also has a second-floor one-bedroom flat with shower and lounge, three-bedroom owners' accommodation, and rear tea and trade gardens.

Stonesmith of Exeter sold the leasehold off a guide price of £95,000 on behalf of Cliff Figes and family.
