Shropshire publicans buy Spirit pub near Newport

Shropshire publican David Bridge and his wife have bought the Red House family dining pub in the village of Lilleshall near Newport.

The two-storey detached property is one of 450 Spirit managed pubs that Christie + Co is offering on a leasehold basis on behalf of Punch Taverns, which re-acquired the Spirit business last December.

The Red House incorporates a 185-seat restaurant, a two-part bar with a games area, a patio beer garden, a detached Wacky Warehouose children's play area, and two-bedroom owners' accommodation.

The Birmingham office of Christie + Co was seeking a premium of £91,000 for the new 10-year lease created by Punch.
