Surrey buyers for Sidford's Rising Sun

Brian Foster and Christine Appleford have left Surrey to run the Rising Sun Inn in the Devon village of Sidford.

The property benefits from all-year tourism as Sidford is part of the parish of Sidmouth, a Victorian seaside town on the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline

The substantial property includes a 20-seat lounge bar, a 30-seat dining area, a locals' bar, a self-contained flat, and four en-suite letting bedrooms on the first floor.

There is also an enclosed trade garden, a courtyard, and a detached skittle alley that doubles as a function room to accommodate 30 seated guests or 50 at a buffet or party.

Stonesmith of Exeter sold the leasehold off a guide price of £125,000 on behalf of George and Margaret Austin.
