Fred Sirieix partners with P&G Professional to support independent restaurants

Sponsored article: P&G Professional (the away-from-home division of Procter and Gamble) has partnered with Fred Sirieix, Million Pound Menu presenter and the UK's best-loved maître d', to support independent restaurateurs as the UK emerges from lockdown.

P&G Professional and Sirieix have partnered with Restaurant Collective, the not-for-profit community of restaurateurs and industry professionals championing the UK's independent dining scene. The initiative aims to level the playing field and give a louder voice to smaller operators, providing valuable tools and resources to help them succeed, particularly as the sector emerges from lockdown.

P&G Professional and Sirieix will deliver guidance, expertise and mentorship to members of Restaurant Collective, helping businesses navigate the challenges onset by the pandemic.

As part of the collaboration, P&G Professional will host a podcast, where Sirieix and Brian Turner, chef and co-founder of Restaurant Collective, will provide insights, actionable tips and advice on how to make the best first impression both front-of-house and throughout restaurants.

In 'Coming Clean: How Hygiene is Dining's Hottest Trend', Sirieix will discuss his own experiences and explore how restaurateurs can address customer cleanliness concerns.

As the UK restaurant sector reopens, customers will look to hygiene standards to feel safe while eating out. P&G Professional has launched the CleanPLUS Experience to help businesses feel equipped to welcome back customers, with a series of complementary materials on offer, including signage to indicate that establishments have been cleaned to a high standard using trusted P&G Professional brands – such as Fairy Professional, Flash Professional and Microban 24 Professional.

Berat Onur, UK & Ireland country sales lead at P&G Professional, said: "P&G Professional is committed to supporting the hospitality sector and through our work with Fred Sirieix and Restaurant Collective, we will be able to engage directly with a nationwide community of hospitality professionals, harnessing experience and resources to help restaurateurs navigate these unforeseen circumstances.

"The topic of cleanliness has been thrust into the spotlight due to events of the past 15 months and we are proud to be able to offer effective solutions for business owners to address these concerns, with initiatives such as the CleanPLUS Experience, so that they can focus on their customers."

"The hospitality sector has been among the hardest hit by the pandemic, leaving many businesses concerned about their future," said Sirieix. "It's a long road back from here but, through this partnership with P&G Professional, high standards and a disciplined approach to health and safety, I am confident that we can achieve real impact and support business-owners by helping them to prepare for increasing numbers of guests.

"As a nation, the UK is proud of its rich culinary heritage and we want to do all that we can to get it back on its feet again."

Paul Shaw, chief executive at Restaurant Collective, said: "The UK hospitality sector is a close-knit community and we want to safeguard its future and help it thrive. By delivering tools and resources from like-minded brands such as P&G Professional, the expertise of industry veterans like Fred Sirieix and our members, our ambition is to help shape the future of the sector, particularly at this challenging time."
