Tender: catering partner – Delapre Abbey, Northampton

13 July 2015

Delapre Abbey, situated in extensive parkland to the south of the town centre, has a history dating from 1145. It is currently undergoing a £6.3m restoration funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Northampton Borough Council and other donors. It will open to visitors for the first time in summer 2016 and is intended to become one of the Midlands' premier visitor attractions.

Details of this exciting restoration project with a full description are available on the Delapre Abbey Preservation Trust's website: www.delapreabbey.org

Managing a visitor orientated café/restaurant as well as catering for events, the Caterer's role is significant. This is a unique opportunity to shape an innovative visitor and events catering operation in principal parts of the Abbey's south facing frontage. The Caterer will have managed successful catering operations in both visitor and event catering. Strong technical skills are required together with a track record of being a proactive and flexible operator able to demonstrate excellent customer care and a service that enhances visitors' experiences.

Initially please email your interest (this need only contain your contact details) to our consultant Mark Hobbs: mark@kendrickhobbs.co.uk who will make contact and organise a site visit. Interested parties will be issued with an Invitation Prospectus with a closing date for responses to this of 4th September 2015.
