Hotels, pubs and restaurants located near the iconic RHS Chelsea Flower Show have blossomed for the annual horticultural event, boasting bespoke menus and eye-catching displays.

This year’s show has seen visitors descend on the London borough to feast their eyes on floral displays, both from the event itself and the surrounding hospitality venues.

The theme of Chelsea in Bloom, the free flower festival that coincides with the annual flower show, is ‘out of this world’, and more than 140 outlets spanning hospitality and retail have put on floral displays for the occasion.

Footfall to Chelsea in Bloom jumped 21% on last year’s record-breaking visitor numbers at the start of the week.

Here are some of the most spectacular displays from this year’s event.

The Ivy Chelsea Garden

The Ivy’s Chelsea Garden outpost’s floral display centres around an immersive space-themed garden, featuring aliens, an astronaut, a large Saturn sculpture and a full moon.

The installation, created by floral studio Phohm, will be on display until 24 May alongside a limited-edition seasonal menu offering buffalo burrata with pesto and crispy duck salad; asparagus, courgette and broad bean linguine; and black bee honey and white chocolate cheesecake.

The Mayfair restaurant’s display, called sketch in Bloom, The Hundred Acre Bloom: 100 Years of Winnie the Pooh, takes inspiration from AA Milne’s beloved children’s book Winnie-the-Pooh, marking the centenary since the story’s publication.

Illustrations by EH Shepard informed the floral displays erected across the restaurant, which will be on display until 7 June.

The restaurant hosted a range of activations to coincide with the event, including liqueur and Champagne tasting workshops – as well as an afternoon tea featuring a honey pot in a nod to the novel’s namesake.

Ixchel

This King’s Road establishment drew inspiration from the Mayan goddess of the moon, after which it is named, for its Chelsea in Bloom display. Designed by award-winning florist Amaranté, the installation displays sculptural moon phases with cascading wildflowers displayed on the restaurant’s façade.

The Mexican restaurant has also launched a bespoke cocktail menu in partnership with Código 1530 Tequila, available until 24 May, to coincide with the event.

The Surprise

The Wren Pub-owned establishment, situated on the corner of Christchurch Terrace, launched a seasonal menu alongside its floral display.

Guests can enjoy baked lobsters or crab and caviar bites sourced from Cornwall and a range of seasonal spritzes, including a Chelsea Garden spritz.

Sticks ’n’ Sushi Chelsea

The King’s Road branch of the restaurant chain has mounted a wooden gateway display decorated with forest greenery. The restaurant has also launched a bespoke cocktail menu, including the Furano cocktail made with Suntory gin and flavours of apricot, passion fruit, lavender and bitters, priced at £12.50.

La Maison Ani

This French-Mediterranean restaurant, located in Knightsbridge, took inspiration from Paris for its floral display. The restaurant’s terrace is “envisioned as a garden under the stars, where nature, light, and atmosphere come together”.

Two specially developed desserts are available for visitors: the Jardin d’Agrumes, a baked caramelised cheesecake with a mandarin sorbet, and Éclat de Rose, described as “a delicate interpretation of a Victoria sponge” infused with rose water and layered with raspberry chocolate.

Willets at the Cadogan

This bistro and bar, which opened last month in the Belmond-owned Cadogan hotel, described itself as “an ideal base for exploring London’s thriving cultural scene, from the Chelsea Flower Show to Wimbledon, Frieze to London Fashion Week”.

The Cadogan Arms

The Ardent Pub Group-owned establishment makes a playful nod to David Bowie’s iconic Ziggy Stardust for its floral display at this year’s event.

Fuji Grill, Beaverbrook Townhouse

The Japanese fine dining establishment’s display is one of 125 peppered through the Chelsea in Bloom display – with complimentary walking tours and rickshaw rides offered to visitors of the event.
