10 Greek Street in London’s Soho to close after 14 years

10 Greek Street, a stalwart of London’s Soho, is to close after 14 years of trading next month.

Founders Cameron Emirali and Luke Wilson opened the independent restaurant and wine bar in February 2012, back when Soho was reinventing itself as a culinary destination with a cluster of new wave openings including Polpo, Ducksoup, Koya and Palomar.

The pair share more than 30 years’ of industry experience between them, with Wilson having worked as a supplier at Liberty Wines, while Emirali was a chef at the Wapping Project prior to both of them working together at the Zetter hotel.

In 2014, Emirali and Wilson launched a second restaurant in London’s Hoxton – 8 Hoxton Square – but they closed the site after four years of trading.

In 2018, the pair launched Northamptonshire-based brewery Braybrooke Beer Co in partnership with Nick Trower of Biercraft. Today, Braybrooke Beer Co supplies beer to the likes of Public House Group, Mount Street Restaurant, Portland and Quality Chop House. 

Over the years, 10 Greek Street has received several favourable reviews, including from food critic Jay Rayner, who described the restaurant as “proper grown-up”.

For its final weeks, 10 Greek Street will serve heritage dishes such as sweet breads, peas, artichokes and masala; prawn and scallop ravioli lemon butter; razor clams, nduja and broad beans; and Welsh black beef, new potatoes, sprouting broccoli and bone marrow croquettes.

The team also aim to clear as much of the Little Black Book wine cellar before closing.

Emirali and Wilson said: “After 14 incredible years, we wanted to let you know that we’ve decided the time is right for us to move on to new adventures, and we’ll be closing the doors to the restaurant for the final time on 8 August. It’s been such a huge part of our lives for so long, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the memories, friendships and good times along the way. So many of you have been part of the journey in one way or another, and we’d really love to see as many friends and family as possible before we finish.”

10 Greek Street will hold its final service on 8 August.
