800 Degrees Pizza to open first European site in London

California-based pizzeria chain 800 Degrees Pizza is to open its debut European restaurant in London's Wandsworth on 24 January.

The site will launch in the Gravity Wandsworth entertainment venue, which features a multi-level go-kart track.

Dishes such as the butter chicken pizza with tikka sauce, red onions and chillies will be available alongside drinks from Gravity's Newtons cocktail bar, which launched in 2022.

800 Degrees Pizza was founded by chef Anthony Carron in 2011 and currently has 35 locations worldwide, including in Singapore, Japan and the United States.

The group plans to open two further UK sites over the next three months following a partnership with investors Reef Technologies, which operates multi-brand kitchens across North America.

Tommy Lee, chief executive of 800 Degrees Pizza, said: "We are so pumped for this entrance into the UK, which will be a pivotal milestone for our brand. Having the opportunity to bring the 800 Degrees experience to the people of the UK and the lively location of Gravity Wandsworth, is just so exciting for the whole team."

Harvey Jenkinson, co-founder and chief executive at Gravity, said: "We are excited to welcome 800 Degrees to Gravity Wandsworth and believe they are a brilliant business to complement our current food offering."

It comes after Michigan-based pizzeria Little Caesars announced the opening of its first UK restaurant in Derby last November.
